UnionBankers Provide Support to Farmers in Brgy.Sabang, Dasmarinas, Cavite

Last March 18, 2023, UnionBank volunteers set out on a mission to support the farmers of Brgy. Sabang, Dasmarinas, Cavite. This outreach event aimed to assist our local farmers, who are contributing the most to the nation’s food security and agricultural productivity.
Data suggests that seven out of every 10 rural farmers in the Philippines do not own the land they cultivate. Despite their efforts to provide Filipinos with food, they often face challenges due to limited resources and support.
During conversations with UnionBank volunteers, the farmers shared stories of their struggles; many of them are elderly, while the younger generation show little interest in continuing the backbreaking agricultural work.
The outreach program supplied much-needed fertilizers to the farmers. These fertilizers can significantly boost their crop yields, helping the farmers secure a better livelihood and contributing to the nation’s agricultural progress.
For the farmers, this initiative symbolized recognition and appreciation. They expressed how it was a rare moment when they felt valued and supported by their community. In total, 100 hardworking farmers benefited from this heartwarming initiative, receiving not only tangible support but also gratitude and respect.
The event in Brgy. Sabang, Dasmarinas, Cavite, serves as a testament to the impact of corporate social responsibility. It reminds us that appreciation, support, and assistance can make a significant difference in empowering those who play a crucial role in feeding our nation.
