UnionBank’s annual health initiative, Tutok Kalusugan, kicked off last May 15, 2024, at the UnionBank Plaza. The event marked the beginning of activities aimed at promoting health and well-being among UnionBank employees.
The opening ceremony began with a speech from Chief Human Resources Officer, Michelle Rubio. She expressed gratitude to attendees and acknowledged support from various vendors and healthcare partners who contributed their time and services to the event. Emphasizing holistic health, she encouraged UnionBankers to actively engage in the health drive, stating, “We take care of one another, we take care of U, and you take care of your family and your health, and that’s what gives a really engaged employee, a happy employee.”
The event was officially inaugurated by HR Shared Services Head and HR Business Partner, Gladys Ocampo, through a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony. ‘Tutok Kalusugan‘ is scheduled to run from May 15-18 at UnionBank Plaza and will continue from May 29-31 at UnionBank Square.
A variety of vendors and healthcare partners participated in the Health Fair, offering UnionBankers opportunities to make healthier choices. Offerings included taho, multigrain breads and pastries, low-carb alternatives, coffee, vitamins, supplements, therapy oils, and prepaid health cards. Employees could also enjoy complimentary consultations from Healthway, Shinagawa Eye Center, and MindNation, among others, along with spa, facial, and massage services that only requested tips or donations.
In the afternoon, a Vaccine Webinar session focused on the importance of the HPV vaccine, led by Ms. Sybil Lizanne Bravo, RPh, MD, FPOGS, FPIDSOG. As the Chief of the Division of OB-GYN Infectious Diseases at UP Philippine General Hospital and Manila Doctors Hospital, Dr. Bravo brought her extensive expertise to the session, emphasizing the vaccine’s role in preventing HPV-related diseases, especially cervical cancer.
Looking ahead, Tutok Kalusugan will feature additional vaccine webinars covering the Flu and TDaP vaccines, aimed at educating employees on the benefits of immunization for a safer workplace.
This coming Saturday, May 18, the first leg of the Vaccination Program will be held at UnionBank Plaza, providing employees and their dependents with vaccinations against Flu, TDaP, Pneumonia, and HPV.
‘Tutok Kalusugan‘ continues to stand as proof to UnionBank’s commitment to fostering a healthy and engaged workforce, highlighting the importance of health in achieving both personal and professional happiness.
