UnionBank Celebrates X’MAS with Differently-abled Pasiguenos through ‘MOVE WITH U’
By: Neil Nepomuceno
December 4, 2021 – UnionBank launched part 1 of Move with U at Tanghalang Pasigueno, Pasig City Hall, giving seventy WHO-approved custom-fitted wheelchairs and assistive devices (each costing around 25-30K). Our health expert partner, the Philippine School of Prosthetics and Orthotics-UERM, provided medical support in assessing, measuring, and assembling each beneficiary’s mobility kits and tools.
Akkap Federation President Eldin Sabuco thanked everyone for the support they are receiving. “Very blessed kami sa araw na ito, maagang pamasko sa aking kapwa persons with disability ng Akkap Federation at siyempre! Tulad ng sinabi ng UnionBank, mamaya may surprise sila, para sa atin.” He said.

UnionBank’s Human Resource Counsel, Atty. Nikki Santos said that the project is about “helping create a world without barriers, promoting inclusivity, and giving equal opportunities.”
Unionbank’s CSR and Sustainability Head, Dave Devilles said that the initiative was part of the Bank’s ‘Tech Up Pilipinas’ program and it aims to help various communities including differently abled stakeholders.
Aside from giving assistive devices, Dave assured everyone that PWDs may access UnionBank’s Xcellerator programs and SME courses for career advancement opportunities.

“Maraming salamat po at hinayaan niyo kaming makatulong sa inyo, ang UnionBank ay narito lang po may mga programa kami para matulungan ang ating mga kapatid, sa Pasig City,” said Dave.
Enrollment and registration of the beneficiaries with the Xcellerator and other courses are expected to happen in Q2 next year.
Move With U is a model CSR project that can be replicated by any UnionBanker nationwide. If you wish to nominate beneficiaries in your community, feel free to contact our CSR and sustainability partners in HR, Sir Dave Devilles and Angela Justo.
