In a heartwarming partnership, UnionBank teamed up with Pet Express for a special event called “Paws for a Cause.” Over two days at the UnionBank Plaza Lobby from August 15-16, 2023, employees had the chance to buy pet supplies such as pet food, diapers, vitamins, strollers, and cages.
Aside from being able to buy various pet supplies, employees were able to donate items to help non-profit organizations Hound Haven and CARA PH. Every donation, regardless of size or amount, counted as a meaningful GoBeyondCommunities contribution.
Alongside the donation drive, an enlightening Ubuntugether session took place on the 47th floor of UnionBank Plaza. Themed “Paw Buddies For Life: Proper Pet Care After the Pandemic,” this session featured four speakers who shared valuable insights on taking the best care of pets, especially in the post-pandemic world.
Dr. Jason Sumaway, a well-regarded local veterinarian and founder of PetEterniTy, led the session. Dr. Sumaway covered essential topics like post-pandemic pet care, handling separation anxiety in pets due to remote work, and practical health tips for pet owners. He also introduced the idea of Taxidermy as a unique way for pet parents to cope with the loss of their cherished companions.
As the event concluded with a dynamic Q&A, attendees were not only informed but also inspired to embrace compassionate pet care.
The donation drive and learning seminar were able to emphasize that a paw in need should always be met with a helping hand – just like how our furry companions offer love and support, especially during trying times.
