Last September 16, 2023, thirty-seven UnionBank volunteers joined hands to uplift the school community of A.F.G Bernardino Memorial Trade School, making a significant impact on both students and faculty.
The beneficiaries, including approximately 2,600 Senior High School students and seven dedicated teachers, were overwhelmed with gratitude as the volunteers extended a helping hand. The donations were diverse and purposeful: 16 gallons of alcohol, 8 stand fans, 2 HP printers, and a 55″ TCL smart TV were contributed to enhance the educational environment.
The widescreen TV now graces the Science classrooms, enriching learning experiences. The printers found their place in faculty rooms, and became a great help for administrative tasks. The much-needed electric fans brought relief from the heat, ensuring a more conducive learning atmosphere for the kids.
Additionally, 50 less privileged students were selected to receive various groceries, including essentials like bath soap, baby powder, toothpaste, toothbrushes, powdered milk, 3-in-1 coffee, instant noodles, canned goods, rice, and sugar. These thoughtful provisions helped ease their daily burdens, and the volunteers were showered with gratitude from the students who benefitted from the GBC project.
The volunteers expressed their hope that this project is just the beginning, highlighting UnionBank’s commitment to ongoing support for those in need. “For as long as there are needy ones, I just hope that we can be able to help them,” they remarked, emphasizing the organization’s heartfelt dedication.
They also expressed their appreciation and gratitude for being part of an organization that embodies compassion and community engagement. “Personally, I am thankful to the Lord because He led me to this company that has a heart to help and goes the extra mile to aid others. Kudos to all UnionBankers!“, Vilma Cruz, the project organizer, exclaimed, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to extend a helping hand to those in need.
The impact of UnionBank’s GoBeyond Communities initiative at A.F.G Bernardino Memorial Trade School serves as a testament to the power of generosity, empathy, and collective action in creating meaningful change within communities.
