Last May 25, 2024, thirteen UnionBank volunteers from the Corporate and Digital Operations (Payments and Emerging Technologies Operations) team organized a GoBeyond Communities project called the “Adopt a School Program” at Luis Francisco Elementary School. This project supported the school by providing essential resources and teaching financial literacy.

UnionBank volunteers donated a sound system with speakers and microphones, printers, ink, and paper. These items were given to help the school hold events and produce educational materials efficiently.

The volunteers also conducted financial literacy workshops for the school’s staff, parents, and students. These sessions covered topics like budgeting, saving, and making smart financial decisions. The focus on financial literacy was because understanding financial management, even at an early age, is crucial for the well-being and future success of the students and their families.

The school community was grateful for the support. The school principal expressed, “This support from PCM will significantly improve our teaching resources and help us conduct our activities more effectively. The financial literacy sessions were eye-opening for both our staff and students.”

A teacher added, “The financial literacy workshop taught me how to manage my finances better, which will benefit my family.”

This initiative demonstrates the Bank’s dedication to building a financially literate and empowered community, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation. By investing in education and financial literacy, UnionBank advances its goal of becoming a Great Retail Bank, fostering strong relationships with communities and promoting financial well-being for all.
