UnionBank volunteers from Cavite visited the Cancer Warrior Foundation in Dasmarinas, Cavite, as part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility initiative, ‘GoBeyond Communities.’ They donated food, essential items, and conducted a simple program for the residents of the facility.
The volunteers were moved by the stories and the current situation of the children, admiring their strength and positivity amidst the challenging battle against the “Big C”. Parents were also present in the program, and they were happy that UnionBank chose the facility as their beneficiary One of the volunteers, UnionBank Branch Manager, April, described her experience, saying, “We donated items that were also requested by them, such as diapers, milk, juices, biscuits, bread, toiletries, and toys. The children, along with their parents, were delighted to receive these items.
“For me, I consider this one of my greatest accomplishments. I love participating in charity events, and my heart is full after this one. I’ve also received numerous Facebook friend requests from the parents and thank-you messages from them,” she ended.
Following the program, the volunteers expressed their desire to participate in more GBC activities as they felt a deep connection to the children and hoped that more volunteers would join in to assist them in living a better life.
