Union Bank of the Philippines through its Corporate Social Responsibility program, GoBeyond Communities (GBC), returned to the Compassionate Community Kitchen (CCK) to spread joy and connect with the underserved elderly. The second run of the outreach happened at the Compassionate Community Kitchen, Don Gesu Building, Alabang Hills, Muntinlupa last June 22, 2024.
A group of dedicated UnionBankers volunteered their Saturday morning to bake cookies, play games, share stories, and enjoy lunch with the beneficiaries.
Sheryl Gregory, PR and Marketing Head of CCK, expressed her gratitude to UnionBankers, some who have now visited the foundation twice. She said that the volunteers are “channels of blessings” to them, especially their beneficiaries.
Rachelle Ann Tolentino, one of the volunteers, echoed Cherie’s sentiment, highlighting UnionBank’s purpose of “co-creating innovations for a better world,” which translates into positively impacting the community through the work UnionBankers do.
This CSR initiative addresses a growing social need, provides companionship and extends support for essential needs to a vulnerable population like the elderly. It is also a nod to UnionBank’s banner Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) program, uMatter slogan: The future includes everyone.
The CCK provides care for those under palliative care, abandoned elderly, and underserved seniors. UnionBank’s commitment to its purpose is evident in its continued support for CCK and its beneficiaries.
