Many workers around the world have been away from their offices for over a year. With the COVID cases declining and the economy back on track, the reopening of offices is now starting.
We have prepared some tips on how you can muster the strength and mentally prepare to reduce your back-to-work anxieties.
TIPS: If you still feel anxious about your return to the office, you should communicate your feelings to your colleagues and supervisor. Know that you are not alone w and having friends at work may help lighten mental load.
TIPS: Personalize your list by including your favorite working spot in the office, or maybe re-imagine the smell of coffee during breaks, the water-cooler conversations, and the face-to-face brainstorming sessions.
TIPS: It’s important to be your own advocate when thinking about your comfort and mental health needs when returning to the workplace. A discussion with your line manager wouldn’t hurt and it can offer options for flexibility too.
TIPS: It’s been two years and you are not the same person anymore. Take it one day at a time. If you still feel anxious, try to do something that will make you look forward to the day you return to the office as if it’s your first day in school – buy a new pen, a new lunch box or a tumbler.
