Career (and Life) Influencers to Follow on LinkedIn

We all feel stuck in our careers or some aspects of our lives at one point. And more often than not, we find it difficult to approach or do not have access to real-life mentors or coaches to help us get through that limbo.

Aside from reading self-help books and listening to motivational podcasts, having a figure to look up to even virtually is essential. Most especially in rekindling those long-forgotten passions, reminding us of our childhood dreams, or simply receiving a daily dose of encouragement to keep moving forward. Here are some of our favorite LinkedIn influencers that you, too, should follow.

Darlyn Sandra Ty-Nilo - Motivation, Dreams, and Empowerment
https://www.linkedin.com/in/dar-dreampowerment/

Dar is known as the founder of Viviamo, Inc., and the famous Belle de Jour planner. She revolutionalized journaling by including features that teens, young adults, and even professionals would enjoy. In between the journal pages are doses of inspiration and motivation that build self-esteem and empower users to navigate their current journey.

Ideas and inspiration that spark motivation continues on Dar’s LinkedIn profile. She believes in #dreampowerment or writing down your goals and taking small steps towards each one to change your life and the lives around you.

Chris Do - Creativity and Content

Have you ever questioned your worth? Or undermined your craft’s value? You are not alone. In this day and age, there seems to be a growing disregard for art, its value, and the hard work invested in it. We can observe that there are more stories about stealing content and ideas online, disregarding copyright laws, and exploiting artists for free art nowadays.

Chris Do gives a constant reminder on valuing one’s work, the equal importance of good content writing and good graphic design, and the junction between your mission and business. Whether you are on the creative side of a company or not, you’ll need a pocket full of wisdom from him.

Gretchen Rubin - Happiness and Habits
https://www.linkedin.com/in/gretchenrubin/

The mind behind the best-selling book ‘The Happiness Project’ continues with her advocacy of promoting happiness not by changing our lives but by shifting our mindsets in the way we do things. On LinkedIn, she continuously shares insights about how small wins and gestures can turn into habits and how these can all lead to self-improvement and happiness.

Francis Kong - Passion, Purpose, Productivity
https://www.linkedin.com/in/franciskong/

Francis or FJK (I love how this variation of his name sounds) is one of the well-known motivational speakers and entrepreneurship gurus in the Philippines and overseas. He does not only create content about business and career, but he is also one of those you need to follow should you need a different perspective on leadership, relationships, love, and life in general.

In one of the most crucial turning points in my career, I braved sending FJK a career question. To my surprise, he replied. That brief conversation helped mold me into the professional I am today. And whenever I question my purpose and feel demotivated, I go back to his words of encouragement which said, “You will do very well.”

Is there anyone on LinkedIn that inspires you to go for your dreams or achieve a specific goal? Share their profiles on the comment section so our readers can follow them too!
