A Day of Insights and Connections: NUS Visits UnionBank UBIC

The UnionBank Innovation Campus (UBIC) buzzed with curiosity and collaborative energy as students from the National University of Singapore (NUS) embarked on an insightful exploration of the state-of-the-art facilities on February 24, 2025.
The day offered a unique opportunity for the NUS students to learn about UnionBank’s commitment to innovation and its initiatives when it comes to serving diverse communities. A highlight of the visit was a tour inside UB’s “Bank on Wheels,” a mobile branch equipped with a fully functional ATM to cater cash transactions on calamity-struck areas.
This demonstration underscored UnionBank’s proactive approach to delivering essential financial services, particularly during emergencies and unforeseen events, showcasing its social impact and dedication to inclusivity.
.Mike Condez (ITSG), Romina Marcaida (AI and Data Privacy Team), Marco Dumaliang (Corporate Planning and Investor Relations), Bettina, Hannah, and Trixie (UB Online, The Portal, and UB Negosyante) shared their expertise with the students.
TJ David, UnionBank’s Senior Organizational Development Manager, spoke about UnionBank’s innovative culture and highlighted how the organization continues to develop top banking talent.
Guille Francisco from the Aboitiz Group also joined the session, providing a detailed perspective on Aboitiz’s contributions to innovation and sustainability within the construction sector.
.The students were eager to engage with the UnionBank and Aboitiz teams, leading to a Q&A session. Our guest speakers provided thoughtful and detailed responses, covering a wide range of topics from cutting-edge technological advancements to strategic initiatives from the Bank.
As the day drew to a close, a recognition ceremony was held, marking the culmination of a successful visit. The NUS students expressed their gratitude by presenting a token of appreciation to UnionBank, symbolizing the strong bond formed during the enriching experience.
