Creating Brighter Futures: UnionBank Volunteers Give Back to Barangay 28-C
A look back at our GBC initiatives: On December 5, 2023, UnionBank volunteers from Davao City visited the Barangay 28-C Child Development Center to bring joy and support to its students and teachers. The visit was part of UnionBank’s GoBeyond Communities (GBC) program, showcasing the Bank’s commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
The volunteers arrived during the children’s learning hours, where they were warmly introduced by the teachers. To make the day unforgettable, they played games and spent quality time interacting with the children, filling the center with laughter and excitement.
Adding to the celebration, the volunteers ensured that every child had something delicious to enjoy, distributing food and making the day even more memorable.
The highlight of the visit was the turnover ceremony, where the volunteers formally handed over their donations. These included essential items such as cleaning materials, a new table, electric fans, and lapel microphones with speakers to support the teachers in creating a more conducive learning environment.
Ruby Arcangel, UnionBank’s Senior Branch Ambassador from the Davao Rizal branch, reflected on the experience, saying, “It was heartwarming to see the kids so excited about their new study tables and the other donations we brought. Knowing that we made a difference in their lives is truly fulfilling.”
The center’s teacher, Lorna Pervandos, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to UnionBank and its volunteers, saying, “Thank you for choosing us as a GoBeyond beneficiary. Your support means so much to our children and teachers.”
