UnionBank volunteers from Davao City drove for an hour and braved the mountainous terrain to reach the remote Marilog District and donate school supplies such as bags, folders, Notebook and pens, and more.
The small community viewed this generous act as an answered prayer, with the volunteers spreading joy with their donations and knowledge by giving a brief financial literacy workshop that aims to help their families to save money, and allocate their resources better.
The school pastor thanked the volunteers and offered them a prayer of thanksgiving and joy, assuring them that these donations will be used by the students for the 2024-2025 school year.
This initiative would not be possible without the efforts of UnionBank Branch Ambassador, Elouie Betita, and the 23 UnionBank volunteers. Their program benefitted 131 individuals who will now face the rest of the academic year with a smile and confidence.
UnionBank’s flagship CSR program, GoBeyond Communities aims to uplift remote communities by supplying through donation and equipping the residents with the right financial literacy to ensure that they can better provide for their families.
