On August 2, 2024, UnionBank volunteers from the LEAD Management Trainee Program, in partnership with the Calatagan Reef Patrollers, conducted a coastal cleanup in Calatagan, Batangas.
The team focused on cleaning the mangrove forest along the coastline, benefiting over 100 individuals.
UnionBank Detections Officer and LEAD MT, Benecia, praised the dedication of the Reef Patrollers, stating, “It was very inspiring to see the dedication of the Reef Patrollers to the cause. It was visible not only in their eagerness to accommodate volunteers and projects that help the environment.”
In addition to the cleanup, the volunteers donated essential items to further support the Patrollers’ efforts. This includes emergency oxygen tanks, a spinal board, and medicine bags among others.
UnionBank’s flagship CSR and sustainability program, GoBeyond Communities, remains committed to supporting employee volunteers in proposing and executing projects that positively impact lives and the environment.
