Last April 6, 2024, volunteers from UnionBank’s Pagadian City Branch made a meaningful impact at Camp Abelon Elementary School by donating a top-of-the-line sound system. This gesture was part of their GoBeyond Communities Initiative, demonstrating the bank’s dedication to supporting educational projects and improving learning environments.

The event started with the setup of the new sound system, followed by a short program led by UnionBank Relationship Manager, Roger Alvarez. He outlined the goals of the GoBeyond Communities Initiative, setting the stage for the day’s activities.

The school’s principal, Mrs. Nona Ong, warmly received the volunteers, expressing her gratitude for the donation. She discussed how the sound system would lead to more engaging and effective teaching and learning experiences. She shared inspiring examples of how such technological improvements could significantly benefit educational processes.

The highlight of the day was a song performance by a Grade 1 teacher, who used the new sound system. This not only demonstrated its quality but also its potential to enhance various school activities.

Mr. Alvarez also presented a financial literacy workshop, underscoring the Bank’s commitment to equip communities with essential knowledge and skills, extending beyond physical donations.

The event wrapped up with food for everyone, leaving a positive impression on all participants. This initiative by UnionBank’s Pagadian City Branch not only provided Camp Abelon Elementary School with valuable resources but also reinforced the Bank’s ongoing commitment to community development.
