On November 11, 2023, UnionBank Iligan Branch volunteers went to Kolambugan Central School to donate various sports equipment and bring smiles to the children.
UnionBank Sales Officer, Jeff Omlan shared their experience during the outreach. “After a 2-hour ride using 2 private vehicles and 4 motorcycles, we arrived at our destination (Kolambugan Central School). It was an overwhelming feeling to be welcomed by the smiles of the children waiting for us and seeing that we brought the balls, cones etc. They were so happy that they volunteered to inflate the balls while we were talking with their coaches.”
The initiative sought to bring joy to the children and engage them in sports, steering them away from potential risks. “Seeing those kids with those smiles makes us feel that we did a great job in pursuing this project. After the short program, we played some games with the children while using their new equipment.” He ended.
Coaches from the Elementary School expressed their gratitude by sending messages to the UnionBank volunteers. This initiative benefited 30 young aspiring student–athletes, coaches, and the whole sports team of the elementary school.
