Last November 4, 2023, a UnionBank GoBeyond Communities (GBC) initiative named “Simulan ang Tagumpay sa Tagumpay Elementary School,” visited Palawan’s rural landscapes with a mission to nurture education and creativity among young minds.
The initiative aimed to provide young pupils at Tagumpay Elementary School with a head start by ensuring access to updated school supplies, promoting healthy eating habits, and fostering exposure to musical arts through collaboration with the Palawan Sound Organization.
The students were specifically chosen as they are in their stage of education where their thoughts and aspirations are just taking shape. Additionally, as they’re living within a rural area mostly owned by the Bureau of Corrections, the school provided a chance to connect different cultures and support underserved communities.
Bundles of school supplies arranged by grade levels were distributed, ensuring quality education tools for sustained learning. Nutritious chicken soup with vegetables provided nourishment for both children and volunteers, promoting health and community well-being. The Palawan Sound Organization also performed fun and collaborative musical performances, with the students and parents joining in.
With the participation of UnionBankers from the Branch Channel Management South Luzon Puerto Princesa Branch, this initiative highlighted UnionBank’s unwavering commitment to empowering communities and fostering inclusive growth.
For the children of Tagumpay Elementary School, this initiative planted seeds of hope and empowerment, underscoring the Bank’s dedication to bridging divides and nurturing brighter futures.
