UnionBankers united at the UB Square to participate in the first-ever Aboitiz Superdupercon (SDC) this 2024, demonstrating their commitment to the Great Transformation. The event commenced with a well-participated trivia game that tested their knowledge of UnionBank products, banking groups, and the extensive GT2025 initiative.

The gathering started with a warm welcome from the Consumer Banking Head, Manoj Varma, who served as the host of the pilot episode of SDC Season 5. The event also showcased an insightful video highlighting the progress of the ongoing LD2 integration project, led by key Workstream members. It also emphasized the milestones of the Consumer Banking Group since the acquisition.
In an added stroke of significance, the Superdupercon coincided with UnionBank’s 42nd anniversary this January 19, amplifying the sense of unity and shared aspirations among UnionBankers. This event further reinforced their dedication to AEV and its vision, driving them to actively contribute to the great transformation.

Four UnionBankers who shared their stories in the GT Storytellers campaign, also joined the event. They talked about their personal transformations, career growth, and provided testimonials about the team’s transformation efforts over the years. UnionBank Leaders, President and CEO Edwin R. Bautista, and Chief Digital Channel Officer and Chief Customer Experience Officer Ana A. Delgado shared their personal accounts of UnionBank’s transformation story too, “We are at a pivotal moment in our history. We defined and committed to a very bold aspiration – Great Retail Bank. We have a great franchise capable of driving us to that ambition,” Ana shared.

The President and CEO of Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Sabin M. Aboitiz delivered an engaging speech about the Leaders of the Future. He explained how UnionBankers should consider organizational complexities as opportunities to synergize and demonstrate the A+10 behaviors aligned with the Great Transformation. He highlighted that transformation has three aspects: self, company, and country. He emphasized the importance of digitizing services to facilitate businesses. “Your personal transformation adds value and affects the collective transformation of the group. Our biggest game is helping the country transform. If you digitize the service of an LGU to get your permits online, pay taxes online that affects the country. This ultimately has a great impact on all of us.”
The Great Transformation truly begins with “U” and “Me,” symbolizing the collective effort of UnionBankers to shape a brighter future.
