UBP congratulates its Internal Audit Head Ms. Myrna Amahan for having been elected President of the Bankers Institute of the Philippines (BAIPHIL).
Founded in 1941, BAIHPIL, is a non-stock non-profit corporation with the goal of increasing the efficiency and uniformity of bank accounting, auditing, and operations among Philippine Banks.
When asked about her plans as the President, Amahan explains, “despite our success in conducting webinar trainings and virtual meetings, we want to stay relevant and satisfy the training needs of our bankers.”
The newly elected BAIPHIL President, intends to improve the delivery of relevant information to its members by inviting UnionBank executive leaders to share their knowledge about Blockchain technology, and other innovative training practices that UnionBank is already practicing.
“I will definitely need the support of UnionBank’s rich resource of speakers, especially with the new developments that we would like to follow such as metaverse, data analytics and more,” said Amahan.
“In the Metaverse, we can elevate the level of experience in educating our bankers,” she added.
BAIPHIL also works closely with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) for the training needs of the banks, as well as the speakers for the new circulars and requirements that are being cascaded.
Mye Amahan has been with the bank since 2001 and is currently serving as the Head of Internal Audit Division.
