UnionBank teams up with AWS for a 6-week Certification Support

In line with the Bank’s efforts to upskill and accelerate the Cloud Migration Program, UnionBank’s Users, Load, Applications, and Platforms Center of Excellence (ULAP) partnered with AWS (Amazon Web Services) on a six-week learning journey.
The prep session held on Wednesday, May 11th, was led by UnionBank Executive and Chief Information Officer, Mr. Dennis Omila, who gave an inspiring message to the AWS Certification candidates.
“We will help you in many ways. All I’m asking is for everyone to be eager and persevere to get AWS Certified. Mock Exams are available. If needed, let’s set 2 hours every week for locked-in training for the AWS Certification Exam.” Said Mr. Omila.
Infrastructure and Service Management Head Mr. Ryan Acosta along with Mr. Dandelo Cardona, who is currently holding three AWS associate and one Professional Accreditation, also joined the meeting to give insightful messages for the candidates.
UnionBank’s AWS Partners were also present at the certification preparation briefing. AWS Solutions Architect Doods Consana explained how each participant would gain access to a sandbox environment of the AWS Management console that will help them practice on the different cloud services.
AWS Enterprise Account Manager, Mitch Bautista highlighted the importance of quality mentorship that UnionBank will receive, saying “We will provide in the next sessions, some exercises, coaching from what we call ‘Massively certified’ because these are people who completed over 10 AWS Certifications. That’s the quality of people who will coach you.”
The six-week learning journey will be capped off by a stringent examination that can be taken at home or at designated Testing Centers. The passers will effectively complete the AWS Certification Program.
