5 Words that will help you achieve more

1.)  Communication

The ability to communicate well with your leader or fellow team members is necessary to understand your goals. At its core, communication is the process of sending/receiving information, and it should always have excellent inbound and outbound delivery to be effective.

TIP: In between discussions, make sure to ask everyone if the topic remains clear. Do it again at the end of the meeting and you may also recap the details if needed.

2.) Alignment

Every goal is important, but that’s nothing when you don’t have a clear direction of where to go. You’ll be surprised how your output will improve when you set daily alignment meetings to synergize with the team and ensure that you are all on the same page, whether a simple task or a big project.

TIP: Don’t be afraid to reach out whenever you are confused about a certain task or topic. Reciprocate the action to those who reach out to you when they feel unsure.

3.)  Visibility

We live in an era where transparency is important, and almost everything is data-driven. Your approach in the workplace shouldn’t be an exception. Use KPIs (Key performance indicators)achievement on goals, key milestones, and other forms of data to ensure that everyone is working effectively. It would also help your team to precisely keep track of your progress.

TIP: Start now! Not only will it help your team to achieve greater things, but a data-driven approach will boost the team’s morale once they get to see the progress you all made.

4.)  Accountability

There is no I in Team. Your success is built from the collective efforts of your team/workmates. Keep this in mind, be humble and remember that you should always be accountable for the outputs you produce.

TIP: Remember that you represent the organization. Remember your purpose, why you started and keep going! Soon enough, your hard work will be rewarded.

5.)  Discipline

Motivation is the spark that boosts your productivity. However, being disciplined means acknowledging the importance of your tasks, keeping track of your progress, and remaining accountable by persevering to achieve the set goals on time.

TIP: This begins with you. Find effective ways to eliminate distractions and apply the learnings from your past projects to improve your work.
