Profession, Passion, and Purpose: Paolo Liwanag
Having a goal in mind is crucial in achieving something successfully. UnionBank’s BGC Branch Relationship Manager, Paolo Liwanag, shared how his drive for success inspired a new generation of talents by constantly guiding them and setting the right example of work ethic.
As a Relationship Manager, he is in charge of managing and communicating with his team, clients, and prospects, maintaining the right balance of professionalism and genuine care for each person to support and nurture the perfect relationship between the Bank and its customers.
“I started as a junior RM, and I am one of the few Relationship Managers from BGC when the region began. Before, ako yung tinuturuan, but now, ako naman yung nagtuturo sa mga newbies most of the time,” said Paolo.
He stayed true to his promise and inspired a lot of RMs inside and outside the BGC region, earning numerous awards under Transaction Banking group. He is also an occasional speaker at UnionBank Hackathons and virtual events.
With over five years of experience in the Bank, Paolo is not only making a positive impact at work, but also with the Bank’s Volleyball team, playing for UB in inter-company tournaments before the pandemic. This is an opportunity for him to pursue his passion while enjoying his profession.
“Aside from the awards and recognitions I’ve had with the bank, my greatest achievements include overcoming rejections, disappointments, and challenges in life. Roads aren’t always smooth along the way, so we need to overcome it all.”
